Wales for less than $50. We have a large network of

walk into the big city and you can walk in peaceful countryside, and it
won't cost you a penny ! Well surfaced routes take you along
the seafront, up onto the high clifftops, and then through flowering
footpaths towards Lavernock Point from where Signor Marconi first sent
radio signals across water - a World First - more than a century ago. A
brass plaque in the wall of St. Lawrence Church
marks the occasion. The nearby Nature Reserve has a wide variety of
wild flowers and unusual specimens of butterfly. Return via Cosmeston
Lakes Country Park (about 5 miles), where there are several trails and
walks around the great lakes.

barrage is an amazing structure, costing around £120 Million,
and stretching half a mile from Penarth Head across to the Queen
Alexandra Dock, Cardiff. Opened in the early years of the new century
(2000), entry onto the barrage is free, and an interesting footpath
takes you across to the Norwegian Church Arts Centre and conditore
(restaurant). From there you can visit the Welsh Assembly (Senydd), the
Tube Visitor Centre, Mermaid Wharf with its numerous
restaurants and bars, Techniquest "Hands-On" Science Centre, and the
